Being a year 6

Being a year 6 was a  fun year but leaving  middle school was a very very sad time!!!Leaving my school was going to be very hard for me. But now I don't have to leave.
I came to Glenbrae School when I was 5 years old.
In the future I want to be a teacher just like Mrs Boyer.
I have learnt lots about being a teacher and what they do.
Next year I really want to move on from being a little girl to a 12 year old girl in Glenbrae Intermediate School.

Learning how to Bike!!!

I learnt the parts of the bike and learnt heaps of tricks.

It was fun.

Lesson on Kayaking!!

Kayaking was awesome.
It was the first time for me to go Kayaking in Howick Beach.It was a great opportunity to for me to learn more about kayaking.Next year I really want Glenbrae School to have another session on kayaking again.

I have been representing Glenbrae School in Sports and other fun stuff.
I really am going to miss the past few years in Glenbrae School,the dumplings(juniors) and the memories from the when I was 5 to 11 years old now it is time to move on to Intermediate.
I have achieved my Netbook goals I really love my netbook because we can interact with others and tell everyone Glenbrae is a learning and safe school.
In 2012 I want to learn more about Teachers and what they do at home or at school.
I am looking forward to meeting new friends and a new teacher.

A 70 year old(man) farmer was struggling to get out of the wet salty water.1997 was the last time there was a very bad flood.

Today I was on my Mathsmatician
I was learning my -9 and I got 100% and 40 seconds.I tried my best at my maths.

Today I have scored 100% in Math Magican on my Divide by 5.I am so proud of myself on achieving my goal.But next time I will try and answer it is 3 sec or less.

Kids For Kids Concert

Yay!! It's time to shine and show everyone that we can sing.Last night some of Room 7 went to the Telstra Clear Stadium and that was really awesome and we got to meet Danna on Studio2.On stage was really not cool but singing on stage  was really fun.My favorite song was Snoppy's Christmas.If you get a chance to go it is really cool.You will have a lot of fun.

Hiyah!!, Fluffs the name, I call myself fluff because I am as fluffy as a cloud.Well I have to say the Shepherd Boy is totally a LIAR!!! Liar I tell you Liar!!

Well one day I was happily eating my juicy grass when a crowd of villagers were running towards the pasture, like they were going to eat us for barbaque! I screamed but, I was just happily eating grass with my best friend Oz.

I saw the villagers strong and brave. Oz and I were just wondering why were they standing there looking really tough to the ladies. When I looked at the sheppard boy’s face it looked as evil as devils in hell.

The next day it happened again and Oz and I discovered shepherd boy was lying .

A few weeks later my friend the three wolves came to play and the shepherd boy was screaming for help, but the villagers didn’t come because they knew it was a lie.

Then the shepherd boy thought we were screaming for help, but we were just playing tiggy with the wolves, they were in.The boy was acting crazy like he met Justin Bieber on the red carpet.So the villigers did’nt come because they still did not believe him.

It was time to go and my friend the three wolves had to go and the villagers just came in time with the three wolves going home.

The Shepherd boy was on rubbish duty for the rest of his career.        

My Giant Weta Report

The Giant Weta were here when the dinosaurs were alive.They are now 190 million years old and that is old.If you need some facts about the Giant Weta, this will be a great report for you.

Physical Features:
The Giant Weta are 190 million years old and that is really  old.
I heard that the giant weta were here when the dinosaurs were alive.
They also have spikes on their  legs to defend themselves against  enemies.The weta has 3 main body parts: the head,the thorax and the abdomen.

Habitat:

Waikato has a place for weta to live in and to be looked after, called the
Mahoenui Reserve and some live in other  forests and trees.

Diet:
The weta love the gorse flowers, and other invertebrate creatures which are really small.

Main Threats:

It hates fire because it destroys its habitats.

I have been loving weta since Mrs Holderness told us about them and I think it is a great to talk about them so I hope you’ve learnt something.

Cake Fraction

On NZ Maths I was working on my fractions.To play this game you have a cake which you have to name the fraction. I am learning about naming fractions and it is a bit hard but this game had teach me how to name fractions.

Fractions

This is a game about fractions which room 7 are learning this term.Honestly I didn't really know my fractions last week and now I'm getting good with my fractions because my cool teacher Mrs Boyer showed me a site which is really helpful. It's on NZ maths but I think you kids might not be able to get on because you might not have a log in. You need to ask your teacher or principal to get one.

I think learning your fractions is really important because you just don't know when you might need them to cut a huge cake for 80 people. What do you think you can do? STAND THERE.! if you know your fractions you will be able to share the cake.

Leopards

Animals have good way to hide from their enemies and that is called camouflage. A leopard has a spotty, furry coat which helps it camouflage itself in the long grass.

Leopards are very clever hunters. They crouch on their spotty, furry legs up in a tree,keeping very still and quiet and wait for their prey to come. When leopards see the prey, they attack it very quickly, sometimes as fast as 40 miles an hour which is amazing.

A leopard is very good at climbing, swimming and can jump to a high distance, and I think that is very special.

Fractions

Today room7 is going to be learning about Fractions.Mrs Boyer showed room7 a wonderful site for school which is called NZ Maths.I used my radial device to help me cut the octagon into a half. Then I had to select one half it highlights it in purple and I realy enjoy playing. We love that site and I think you might like it to so hope you have a great time.

INOKE IN THE SKY TOWER.



Last night my mum, Inoke and I went to the biggest tower in Auckland. It is called the Sky Tower. When we got there I screamed "YEAH!!!".Then my mum called, "Let's go inside."

We went inside and looked at the beautiful lights and art.
My mum said, "Stay here with Inoke and I'll go to the toilet."
So off she went.
I saw my friend Davinia and I ran towards her and we started talking. I left Inoke on the seat.
When I came back, he was gone. I was so worried about that. Then my mum came back. She saw that I was crying
She said, "Where is Inoke?"I went to the toilet and saw him running to my mum.
I said "Where were you"I was so relieved to see Inoke that I hugged him tight. I told him never to go away by himself again.

Tamee's Famouse Picasso Art

Our art project for term3 was about Picasso and his fantastic art called Cubism. It looked cool, so we made our own. We had to call our artwork something so I called mine, 'The Four Musical Instruments'.

Arotastic

Goal:To make a incredible Aerofoil.

Materials:
Paper(use a quarter of the piece of paper)
String
Sellotape
Hole Punch
Hole Tunal

1. Fold the piece of paper and leave a piece out which would be the size of you thumb.
2. Sellotape the piece of paper together.
3. Use the Hole puncher to punch a whole into the end of your paper.

4. Then grab a string and put it in the whole to make a AROTASTIC.

5. Go inside the Hole Tunnel and hold it torwards the fan.

Motat Trip

Yah! We’re going to M.O.T.A.T.(Museum of Transport and Technology) I can’t wait to learn about, the olden days.The Senior school walked excitedly down the wet soggy path with a happy faces.”Cool we have our own bus to ride on” I said with a famous smile, I felt like Rm7 was famous.
My favourite task was when we were with our teacher called Frazer and Anna they were awesome. In the class we had to dress up like the kids from the olden days, which was hundreds of years ago that was a long time.I looked like an angel when I wore the clothes I thought, but I just knew that angels don’t do chores like scrubbing the floor,washing the dishes,sweeping the floor and taking people's poos and wees which was the worse thing I have ever done but lucky it was from the olden days.It felt like it was 1881 instead of 2011.

So if you want to see Auckland but way back in the 19's Motat is a great place to visit.

While we did our chores we had fun learning about what was the most dangerous pollution which was the water.
If you are interested in the Auckland history you should come to M.O.T.A.T it is a great place to learn about the history of Auckland.

Best Friends

Hi this is my best friend Davinia and me .Davinia and I have been friends for 5 years going on to 6.We met when we both were 5 years old.Davinia and I love reggae and we both love Bob Marley as well. We both love to sing and wish to become famous just like Bob Marley.
I am 10-years old and so is as Davinia.Now we are in Mrs Boyer's class at Glen brae Schol,Room 7,year 5/6. We both love our teacher.She is fun and fantastic.One day Davinia's and my dream will come true and we will meet again.

This emperor penguin was washed in to the land of New Zealand in Peka Peka beach which is in Wellington .It was sad because he thought that the sand was cold chilly icy but it was burning sand which I would never eat.But now he is in the Wellington Zoo which I like to hear.

We did a Inquiry learning about a fish so Douglas and I investigated the fish in the Goat Island marine reserve.
