The Mysteries Spooker

Emma walks through the cold foggy dusty forest. Just seeing owls throughout the  forest and the howling and the noise stops. He looks around and then finds out there is no owl around howling. It was so quiet she could hear her own footsteps walking toward her house and then,¨WOOSH WOOP WOOP WOOSH..¨ the skeletons just fly across the trees......

One Scary Night

Eva walks through the wavy coconut trees near the box. Here runs Sam with his sweaty face from his morning run. They see the box and in big words saying ¨BEWARE DO NOT OPEN¨.They walk to it and read the note.¨DAMN¨ What is this box doing?¨ enquired Sam

Eva walks to it and opens it thinking, it was a trick from her little brother Gabby. They both get a big shock, like a tornado rushing through their faces.Eva looks with a ¨GASP”and a ¨Shiver. They looked like two stones waiting for someone to play with.

Basketball With Bruce

On Tuesday a very tall man came to teach us how to play Basketball. Bruce had a free scholarship to be a famous Basketball player. He has been to 15 countries on our planet.

He taught us how to do the figure 8 fast. He also taught us how to dribble fast and how to control the ball. He told us to feel the ball and make it like it is part of our hand. We had learnt heaps about how to be respectful and to find your identity in sport.

It was amazing playing basketball learning new ways how to dribble and cool tricks.

Bottle Experement

Hypothesis: The sound of air pitches at different levels when blown into air space.
Materials:

Empty juice bottles of different sizes
Water
Air

Procedure:

1. Arrange the empty juice bottles from the smallest to the     largest.

2, Blow air into the bottles, and listen to the pitch of the sound.

3 .Fill each bottle with water up to the level marked on the bottle.
once again,
4. Blow air into the bottle and listen to the pitch of the sound.

Results.
Once water was placed in the bottles,, the pitch of the sound changed according to the size of the bottle each time we blew into it.
This also came about with empty bottles, just blowing air into them. We found the larger the bottle, the lower the pitch of the sound.

Conclusion:

From this experiment, I have learnt that air pitches at different levels when blown into different sized bottles.

The Crowd Goes Wild

The CROWD GOES WILD! Everyone couldn't wait for the Olympics. The Olympics are the most important sporting event in the world.Staying at home because I was sick, made it easier for me to watch the Olympics. I was really surprised by the Fencing because I hadn't seen this sport before. What caught my attention was the way they used the sword and the protective clothing they wore. I was impressed by the  Synchronised swimming. Especially how the swimmers synchronised their moves and I wondered how long it took them to learn.

I so looking forward to the Shot Put and Valerie Adams at the next Olympics. I hope Valerie wins gold for  New Zealand again.

Sand Between My Toes

Yay!  It’s the holidays!

One hot afternoon, I went to Mission Bay for a walk, because I stayed over at my uncle’s house who lives across the beach. My older brother and I went for a walk on the beach.I took off my colourful sandals so I could  feel the warm, crinkly sand between my toes.

Marcus and I went over to the Ice Cream truck to buy a delicious Banana Split ice cream. It was YUMMY! It tasted so cold and it melted so fast in my mouth because it was really hot walking in the raging sun.

Usually Marcus would trick me into walking near the baby blue sea so he could pick me up and throw me into the water for fun. We kept strolling along the warm sand and he kept trying to push me into the water.

After awhile my family came running up to us and said we had to leave because my mum had to go to a  funeral.I was so relieved because I didn't want to get wet.

Culture's At Glenbrae

On Thursday morning, Glenbrae school had a Culture Walk around. Every class did a different culture. Room 1 did Netherlands, room 2 did Cook Islands, room 4 did Tonga, room 7 did South Africa, room 8 did Iran and room 10 did Niue.
My favourite one was Room 10 because I learnt how to sing the national anthem and food preparation.
Afe, who is on the Board of Trustes, came and answered all our questions. It interested me the way Afe said the Currency is the same as New Zealand Money. He said that Niue is part of NZ and that Niue only has 1 island, not like other Pasific island countries like Tonga,Samoa and Fiji.

Niue really interests me,with the languages too.

My Place In This World

Hi my name is Tame’e.
My Family comes from Tonga, but my Dad comes from Vava’u which is town in another part of Tonga. My Mum comes from the Capital of Tonga, Nuku'alofa.

My Goals are to study Singing and Drama. My idol is my older sister Eseta. She taught me how to sing when I was just 4 years old.

My  strongest interest is singing because my family have been singing all their  lives. My brother and his band, which won Pacifica Beats, made a song for all reggae lovers called Reggae’s My Heart. So I want to be the next step on the family musical tree. I really want to sing and do drama because I want to follow in my parents footsteps. My mum and Dad were always the soloists in the youth group at our church.
Reggae has been in my family since my brother and his band won Pacifica
Beats.
.
Sometimes I sing in church with my family and other young people.
We always have a chance to compete with other youth in singing competitions.
I really want to get in to University to be a Music Teacher to help kids follow their dreams of singing.

Stopping Distance and Pedestrian Safety

Yeah!! This morning we had tips from Constable Julie. The main learning  was about Stopping Distance and we also learnt about pedestrian safety.

Constable Julie took us to the netball court to estimate how far would a car need to stop at different speeds?
Constable Julie measured 70 meters from the Playground to Room 9 in the senior school.

I have learnt a lot more about Stopping Distance and Pedestrian Safety.I'm really looking forward to her next visit.

What a Blury Day?

A Blury Day!!

Tears filled my eyes and slowly trickeld down my face and everything went so  blury.Touching her cold frozen cheeks just made me want to cry even more.I just wanted her to just say something to me but didn’t happen. It felt like a cyclone was in my body when I heard my nana died.

She would always play with me,sing with me and give me money. She would tell me stories from back in the days and tells me stories about the rest of the family especially my mums side.I reall

Every morning I would always think she is at home but not.She would always make breakfast and our favourite, which was delicious Pancakes and crunchy CocoPops.I really wanted to have a real big bite of the pankaces she made.It just didn’t feel right eating others peoples pankaces couse, it remineds me of Nenas ones.

The last time I saw her was at New Years Eve and she was good as better. The last thing she said to me was “Have a great year” she mutterd.

Sometimes late at night when the house is quiet,I feel her presence around me.This has helped me remember all the good times.I finally understand the saying time is a great healer.

Simile

Simile:

Definition:
a simile is a sentence using AS and WAS.

She is as pretty as a picture
It was as old as a old picture
He took off like a aeroplane
The pig smelt like a rubbish dump
The old man was as mean as prison
My grandmother was as gentle as jesus!!!

She was as talented as ADELE
The boy ran like a CHEETAH
My pancake tasted like BANANA CAKE
His room was as messy as my BROTHERS ROOM

It was so cold like I was in Antarctica
I was so sick that it went to the hospital
He was as annoying as my little brother.
I was so sad that it felt like a Tongas king died which he did.

Best Friends 2005 - 2012

You are my best friend,
My very best friend,
You make me happy,
Everyday,
You share your great snacks,
You share your best toys,
So please don't take
My best friend away.

My Best Friend
Today I found a friend,
Who knew everything I felt.
She knew my every weakness,
And the problems I've been dealt.

She understood my wonders,
And listened to my dreams.
She listened to how I felt about life and love,
And knew what it all means.

Not once did she interrupt me,
Or tell me I was wrong.
She understood what I was going through,
And promised she'd stay long

I reached out to this friend
To show her that i care
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there

I went to hold her hand
To pull her a bit nearer
And realized that this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but my mirror.

I see lollies floating in the air

I want to be a teacher just like Mrs George

I am special and chubby

I pretend to sing on X factor

I feel the ground breathing

I touch the clouds

I worry that my family will not be together

I am special and chubby

I understand that everyone has a life

I say hello to my friends

I dream that I am singing on the stage in front of millions of people

I try my hardest to make my dream come true

I hope all my wishes come true

I am happy and hard working
