"Where No Boat Could Live," by Roger Fyfe

1. Where is Chatham Island, and what is the weather like there?
Its in the Pacific Ocean, 680 kilometer southeast of New Zealand
2. Who were the first people to arrive there? How did they get there?
The Moriori people. They used there waka’s to travel there.
3. How did the Moriori live? Give some example of what they did to survive?
They grew their own food like kumara,taro and yam and other vegetables .They also hunted for food and a living.
4. What is a wash - through waka? What was it used for?
It is a Buoyant  and seaworthy.It can carry a load of things and food for the family.
5. Why were the waka korai and the wake paging so special?
It’s a waka that people used in the past.Especially the Maori

6. What do the words ballast and capsize mean?
Ballast: Its one of the most heavy material, such as gravel.

7. Please give a brief summary of the article.
The article talks about the history of New Zealand and who came to the country
